About Kate
Passionate... that's the single word that best describes me. I am passionate about almost everything I do. Passion for my work, family, the relationships with all the people I meet, passion about creating a stellar experience for each client who enters my studio, and passion about photography and art and how the two meet. I believe strongly that art should be a part of everyday life, that it IS a part of everyday life.
As I watch myself travel down the road of my own life, I see beautiful images from one moment to the next. My mind is constantly churning about how to take these inspiring images from my mind and make them permanent so that others can experience them with me. This concept encompasses exactly what I strive to do for my clients. I capture these moments, these images of art in your lives, and make them permanent so that you can enjoy them and so that future generations can experience the art of your lives, as well.
A little about my background, educational and otherwise: I studied photography while living in Paris, France, and went on to complete my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, at the University of North Texas. I have worked as an art teacher, a jewelry designer/metalsmith and a marketing/graphic designer. After nearly 17 years of creating personal photography and art, I took the leap and made photography a career a little more than three years ago.
My awards include Professional Photographers of America 2010 Photographer of the Year, Judge's Choice Award and Distinguished Print awards, Southwest Regional PPA Print Competition and multiple works accepted into the prestigious PPA International Loan Collection.
