An active member of the PPA, Kate's work has been celebrated by the Southwest Professional Photographers Association with a Judge's Choice Award, 2008 Southwest Regional Print Competition, as well as being honored for her work creating Distinguished prints in the Portrait competition category and having work accepted into the prestigious PPA International Loan Collection twice. Additionally, Kate Parker has been awarded 2010 Photographer of the Year by Professional Photographers of America, one of only fourteen photographers in Texas with this designation, for demonstrating excellence in her craft and earning tremendous achievements in PPA's 2010 International Photographic Competition." The PPA International Loan Collection is a traveling exhibition that exemplifies the finest work in the current world of professional photography.

Education
Kate studied photography at Speos Photographic Institute in Paris and attended the Sorbonne. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of North Texas in 1996. She has taught art for a number of years, and in addition to being a professional photographer, she is an accomplished jewelry designer.
